Lost... and Found

St. Anthony, if I never needed you before, I need you now!

I’ve lost my bus cards! Yes, cards with an “s”! One card had about 1500 yen of credit on it and the other had 10,000 yen. That’s about 115 bucks that I’m out – unless I can track down those darn cards.

You know, I knew this would happen. I am the second most irresponsible, forgetful, disorganized person I know. (The first most irresponsible, forgetful, disorganized person I know is – no kidding – 10 million times worse than I am. She is BAD!)

Anyway, I knew I’d lose my cards. I knew I would, so I wrote my name and telephone number on each card – in permanent ink, no less. (Look at how I mother myself!)

It’s been two weeks and either the cards are long gone or they’re hiding out in my apartment somewhere. I hope it’s the latter.

As a sort of punishment to myself for being so irresponsible, I walked from my job in one village to my apartment in the next. It took 1 hour and 10 minutes – not too bad at all, but my colleagues thought I was crazy.

Of course, as I got home, I realized my “punishment” was really a “reward” because I needed the exercise. So I gave myself a big “nanny-nanny-boo-boo” for being so clever. How in the world can one be a smart-ass to ONES SELF?!

Does this mean I have multiple personalities?

UPDATE
I found my cards! They were in my apartment, of course, stuck between the pages of a book. How embarrassing. I had to call my schools and tell them I found the bus cards. I also had to tell the village police officer because he said he'd write up a little notice about my lost cards for the town newsletter.
